Describe who you are as a company and why you love doing what you do?
Lillingston has been the architect behind some of the most extraordinary celebrations of recent decades. With more than 30 years industry experience, we have designed parties all across the globe bringing our signature style to even the most challenging of locations. Turning even the wildest of dreams into unimaginable realities, our aim is to produce a magical scene of revelry everywhere we go.
What sets you apart from other event planners?
Purposefully remaining boutique in size throughout the years, we take great pleasure in getting to know each and every client; developing ideas together and guiding those who might not know what they want until they see it. Delivering understated elegance along with the Lillingston stardust, we create inviting atmospheres with personal details always at the forefront of the design.
What are your top tips for choosing the right venue?
The key is to always consider the guest journey and how the event will flow. We like to keep guests surprised by revealing different spaces as the event unfolds. It is always fun to also have a small secret breakaway space or two for guests to discover when they are least expecting it!
If the venue already has a lot going for it in terms of design, it is very important to work with that when developing ideas for the event rather than trying to totally overhaul the space and create something different. Enhancing the space will make the overall event feel much more cohesive.
That being said, don’t be afraid to dream big; we often produce events in the most obscure locations without any existing infrastructure and these often make for the most interesting and memorable parties.
What’s been your most memorable event working with us to date?
We have loved working with LVF on the annual horse auction at Kensington Palace which is an exclusive garden party that takes place in the lead up to Royal Ascot. The flowers really bring the event to life and create some incredible high impact focal points within the grounds for guests to enjoy.
Share one project that you’re working on at the moment that makes you really excited for 2024.
We are currently planning a 3 day event in Mallorca for a 60th Birthday party which we are really looking forward to. It is always so much fun working abroad where you really get to draw inspiration from the surroundings and local culture. Guests will be entertained throughout the weekend with a variety of Hispanic music and artisan crafts, surprise pop-up picnics on remote beaches and will dance the night away well beyond sunset in the grounds of a medieval castle.
